How to Enroll

2017-18 Enrollment/Registration

The 2017-18 Academic Calendar can be found here.  The first day for students is August 22nd.

Transfer information for students from within the district but not slated to attend Strandwood is available here.

Parents with new students to the district can begin the registration process online anytime (https://air.mdusd.org/air/), and then pick up a supplemental packet in the office.

The office is open on school days from 7:30-3:30.

Included in the supplemental packet are documents that pertain to Strandwood, including a request for early or late friend assignment (for TK/Kindergarteners).  A lottery system will be used to select the student’s assignments.

Please email strandattend@mdusd.org with REGISTRATION APPT in the subject line and an email will be sent to make an appointment to complete the registration process.

Please bring:

  1. Online Printout from web enrollment
  2. Completed supplemental packet
  3. Address verification documents – see pink form in the supplemental packet or click here
  4. Original birth certificate or passport of student
  5. Immunization record

**A child cannot attend school without complete and up-to-date immunizations**

Your child must be 5 years of age on or before December 2, 2017 to be enrolled for the 2017-2018 school year.  Students born between 9/2/2012 and 12/2/2012 will enter TK. Students born between 9/2/2011 and 9/1/2012 will enter Kindergarten.

On August 17th, Strandwood staff and PTA will host a Jump Start day for new and returning students, Grades 1-5, to verify emergency contact information.  This is a time for parents to get involved with our amazing PTA.  Students will receive their teacher assignments at this time.  This day is organized with time slots by last name.  Once identified, these will be posted. Kindergarteners will receive their teacher assignments via mail in August.

A parent created list of childcare options is available on the Strandwood Website under Parents and Community.

Please contact the Strandwood Office at 685-3212 if you have questions.  Welcome to the Strandwood Community!
